I'd like to utilize the BMA-400 to detect linear motion without the influence of gravity.
Specifically, I'd like to know if the BMA-400 incorporates wrist and/or arm motion to determine Walking and Running states.
I know that Bosch already has soltuions which provide Linear Acceleration such as the BN055 but this consumes too much power for my application.
Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated, Thanks!

BMA400 does not has high-pass filter so it cannot support the linear motion detection. However, with the powerful generic interrupt, it can detect the slope easily, this could be helpful from cases to cases. And BMA400 has step counter integrated, so it can output the still, walking, running status. The step counter feature has to run in normal mode, about 4.5uA(data + step counter), and can be near 2uA once enables the auto-wakeup and auto-low-power mode switching.
