My team has an existing PCB designed for the BMA280, and we are looking at replacing this part with the BMA400, hopefully without PCB changes.
Per the datasheets, the pinouts and footprints are almost identical, except the pins marked as NC on the BMA400 (Pins 4 & 11).
BMA280 pin 4 is marked as NC, but is actually recommended to be connected to GND.
BMA280 pin 11 was pulled to GND as per requirements for the SPI interface
Will the BMA400 also function correctly with pins 4 and 11 tied to ground, or are they required to be not connected?
Many Thanks,
Jordan Yates

Pins #4 and #11 of the BMA400 are not connected to anything internally. Therefore they can be left connected to GND to re-use the existing hardware design.
