BMA400 absolute maximum rating supply voltage

We are successfully integrated a BMA400 in our project. What we are worried about is the maximum supply voltage of the BMA400. In the datasheet the supply voltage range is up to 3.6V. But also stated  in the datasheet the absolute maximum rating of the supply voltage is 3.6V. Is this correct or is this an error and the absolute maximum rating of the voltage should be higher?

Usually there is a difference between the absolute maximum rating and the permitted value (for example voltage range of the BMA456).

After verification it seems like the absolute maximum rating is overly conservative for this part. We will issue a datasheet update in the future raising the value to 4 volts.
