BME680 - production tests

Hi!

I am a developer working on a device that uses, among others, the BME680 sensor. The development of the device is already ending and we are starting work on production tests for the device. I did not find any information regarding the sensor verification on production. We have two ideas on how to verify the correct operation of the sensor in addition to the self-test of the device.

1. Select a properly functioning device "Golden Sample" and compare its readings with the tested devices.

2. Place the test devices in a temperature, pressure, and humidity chamber and check for deviations from the average measurements.

The basic question is whether there is any point in additional sensor verification? Is the self-test able to check the correct reading of all parameters?

If additional sensor performance verification is required, is there any suggested method?

Usually, it is difficult to establish an accurate test environment in the factory. The factory has requirements on test time, and time is the cost. In addition, to accurately evaluate the sensor data, it is usually tested in a strict test lab, otherwise the test results will be inaccurate.

However, you can set a measurement range according to your local environment. If the sensor data obviously exceeds the range, it is considered abnormal.
