Hello All,
I am currently writing a Semester Thesis and the plan is to analyze breath using the BME688. After reading through the documentation, there are several things not quite clear to me.
1. Can the sensor differentiate between different VOCs (e.g acetone, ethanol, etc.)? Does it give an output for each sensor?
2. As I am not so familiar with sensor specifications, and in particular had some problems interpreting the information from the datasheet. I am interested in the resolution and range of the sensor when detecting VOC's, e.g. ethanol can be detected from a concentration of 1 ppm to 1000 ppm with a resolution of 1 ppm or something in the like (similar to how IAQ is specified). Is there any such information available and if not, do you have any suggestions for me on how to interpret the provided data? (I found only values for the resolution of the gas sensor resistance measurment and it was given in %, which I don't understand what it refers to?)
I am thankful for any feedback and clarifications.
Cheers, Fabian

Hello fabian_ch,
1.BME688 can distinguish fresh air and ethanol, however we did not tests between acetone and ethanol;
2.For the concentration of gas, we do not guarantee the accuracy, there is no resolution for it as well, please refer to below table.
