BME688 via i2C interface - STM32MP - Yocto Linux - should we be using BSEC or the Sensor API

We have a custom hardware with STM32MP1 along with BME688 interface via i2C, BLE, WiFi and other peripherals. For our use case we are running Yocto Linux.

My query is that for using BME688, should we use the Sensor API or BSEC2.4.0  or both ? Any guidance will be highly appreciated.

Hello Deepak,

With BME688, you only need to use sensor API if you only need to get sensor data(temperature, humidity, pressure, gas resistance value).
If you would like to get IAQ or detect gas type, you need to use sensor API and BSEC algorithm.
