Hi,
Question 1: I am using the BMI270 in a drone application. I am sampling the gyro at 3.2kHz ODR in normal mode. Can I confirm that the low pass filter cutoff is 751Hz in this case?
Question 2: If I set gyr_bwp to OSR2 mode at 3.2kHz ODR what would the lowpass filter cutoff be?
Question 3: If I set gyr_bwp to OSR4 mode at 3.2kHz ODR what would the lowpass filter cutoff be?
Question 4: Can you confirm the type and order of the lowpass filter used in the BMI270 Gyro?
Thank you for the prompt reply!

Hi,
The group delay for BMI270 gyro at 3.2kHz ODR in normal mode, OSR2 mode and OSR4 mode requires NDA. If you would like to get NDA placed, then you need to contact your local Bosch sales person to provide the legal name and address of your company and the person's name and title who will sign the NDA. The local Bosch sales person will then send you the standard Bosch NDA form.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am working on this. I will get back to you once I have an update.
Thanks.

Hi, as far as I can see the group delay for 3.2K ODR is already published in the BMI270 datasheet.
So what do you mean by “this” here? Would you release the normal/OSR2/OSR4 group delay without NDA or something?
Thanks.

Hi,
I was working on getting the normal/OSR2/OSR4 group delay for BMI270 running at 3200Hz ODR for you. But according to the headquarter in Germany this kind of information is confidential and must have NDA placed. So please contact your local Bosch sales person for NDA.
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for your help with this so far. Myself and others have been conducting some testing on the BMI270 gyro and cannot reconcile the 3dB cutoffs you posted earlier with test results. This data was gathered using a crude impulse response test comparing the output of the BMI gyro to an unfiltered reference gyro.
In ODR3200 and NORMAL mode the cutoff appears to be ~750Hz as listed in the data sheet. 👍
However, in OSR4 mode the cutoff does not appear to be 187.5Hz but closer to 300Hz?
In OSR2 mode the cutoff does not appear to be 375Hz but closer to 500Hz??
Given the discrepancy I would really appreciate it if you could look into this data for me.
Thank you!
Chris
