Hello,
how can the BMP280 be used for detecting short-term wind gusts?
Will the sensor show a response? According to the datasheet, the measurement interval can be set up to 180 Hz, so this
would be more than sufficient to detect short-term pressure changes due to wind gusts.
Thank you,
Georg

Although this application seems possible, the behavior of the output will highly depend your device's design, location, environment, etc. Our pressure sensors can be configured in response time and bandwidth based on built-in oversampling and filter settings (some examples of configurations are provided in Table 13 of BMP280's datasheet). We would encourage you to validate your hypothesis with some field tests/measurements.
Also note that the BMP388 is currently our latest generation of barometric pressure sensors.
