Is there any advice for using the BMP280 sensor in an enclosed volume filled with a gas other than pure air (argon, for example)? Does this pose any problems? Are the readings still acurate or is the sensor only suitable for regular atmospheric use?

Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry. BMP280 is only suitable for regular atmospheric use which means that it needs to breathe to measure the absolute air pressure. It cannot work if the enclosure is sealed.
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Maybe, my question was a bit misleading. I don't want to close the sensor itself, I just want to introduce it into a "closed" system, which operates at atmospheric pressure, but not with regular atmospheric gases. Is this possible?

In priciple "yes", it is possible.
But for the gas compound, we need careful if the gas is corrosion gas or not because some gas may damage the MEMS unit.

Thanks! Is there any data on several gases, or is this "common sense", which gases are dangerous to the sensor, and which not? Cheers!
