BMP280 light sensitivity

Hello everyone

We use the BMP280 temperature and pressure sensor for scientific purposes. Now we have testet seven BMP280s and wounder if the sensors are sensible to light and if so, has BOSCH quantified this effect somewhere? Do you know of any other outer parameters that have an impact on the sensor?

Thanks for your inquiry.

Please see  the attached BMP280 handling, soldering and mounting instructions. On page 14 you will see that BMP280 is sensitive to light. Please design your casing properly so that BMP280 vent hole is not directly facing the ambient light.

In that document you will also find other outer parameters that have an impact on the sensor such as mechanical stress from mounting screws, heat from other components nearby and other Epoxy conformal coating material, etc.
