Hi,
I am looking to use the BMP390 for an outdoor application. The PCB will be potted / encapsulated, except for the pressure sensor opening.
I am looking for guidance on the min / max size (diameter and depth) of the opening in the potting compound / encapsulant so that measurement accuracy (and sensor operation in general, e.g. due to environmental conditions) won't be compromised.
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry.
To use BMP390 in an outdoor application the enclosure can not be sealed. You may consider to use a piece of Gore membrane for example GAW113 at
https://www.gore.com/sites/g/files/ypyipe116/files/2017-01/GORE_PEV_DataSheet_AcousticVents_Dust_Spl...to cover the vent hole of BMP390 or the hole of the enclosure of your product to prevent any contamination from getting into BMP390 sensor.
Please refer to the handling, soldering and mounting instructions at https://www.bosch-sensortec.com/media/boschsensortec/downloads/handling_soldering_mounting_instructi... when you design the PCB and enclosure.
Thanks.
