Hi all!
I'm using the BMX160 to count steps. The datasheet says: "In order to achieve a robust step detection the peak needs to exceed a configurable threshold min_threshold and a minimum delay time min_steptime between two consecutive peaks needs to be observed."
I guess this is can be done by manipulating the STEP_CONF register. Unfortunately the datasheet only provides 3 fixed-value modes (normal, sensitive, robust) with 11-bit long magic numbers, but without further explanation of how this is related to min_threshold and min_steptime.
How can I set min_threshold and min_steptime / what does the bits in STEP_CONF do in detail?
Background: I need to count steps of an animal, not a human, hence need to configure min_threshold and min_steptime accordingly.
Thanks in advance!
Best, Timm

Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry. The step counter inside BMX160 has three fixed modes. If you want to fine tune the parameters for animal, then we need to have NDA placed. Please let us know which country you are located in. Then our local FAE will follow up with you for the NDA.
Thanks.

Hey,
thanks for your reply. The research institute I'm working for is highly interested in the fine tuning! Can you please contact me regarding the NDA? I'm located in Germany.
