BNO055 Awake Duration (GYR_AM_SET 0x1F Page1 - bit3:bit2)

Hello,

I am using UART and the Adafruit BNO055 Breakout Board with a Raspberry Pi to measure door position over time. 

I modified the Adafruit driver for the BNO055 to include the Interrupt functions of the BNO055. I am trying to fine-tune the Interrupt feature to detect a door opening and remove false triggers.  While doing this, I came upon the "Awake Duration" setting in the register Page 1, under GYR_AM_SET address 0x1F.  However, I don't understand what this setting does.  The Data sheet relevant portion is shown below:

Can someone please explain the "Awake Duration" setting in more detail?

The gyroscope always samples at 2kHz. The awake duration describes how many samples are taken at each interval for the any-motion interrupt engine.
