Dear community,
We are looking at a sensor which includes the BME 280. We would like to understand if the BME 280 is able to measure if an object is moved upwards or downwards and provide data regarding the movement so basically if we attach the sensor to the object and the object moves 1,5cm per second vertically i.e. from 85 to 110 cm, is the BME 280 able to detect the movement and provide altitude information and with what accuracy?
Your repsonse is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jeroen

Barometric pressure sensor can typically be used for some altitude estimation, but of course the performance in your applications will highly depend on the environmental conditions (e.g. based on the weather outdoor, on doors/windows activity indoor, ...).
We would recommend reading the "Recommended modes of operation" chapter of BME280's datasheet to better understand the sensor's performance based on its settings and your application's requirements.
