Direct Replacement for BMA222E?

I have an old circuit that I have used for years which used the BMA222E accelerometer. I am nearly finished with an updated board but need to make a couple more of the old board to get me across the finish line. I can't find any stock of the BMA222E anywhere and am wondering if there is a direct replacement for that part.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi XOnano,

You can use BMA253 as a drop-in replacement. It differs in 2 main aspects :
1- The chip ID is different.
2- It is 12bit instead of 8bit.

All other registers are fully software compatible with the BMA222E.
