Gas detection use case by BME680

we are interested in BME680 to use it in an IAQ use case. we need to detect any gas leakage like CO leakage or methane(city gas) and etc. gas detection described a little bit complicated in datasheet but as we got from it we can use this for our use cases. do we get it right?

Although the BME680 is sensitive to these compounds, please note that the BME680 is not selective and therefore could not tell apart a gas leak from other sources of VOC.
Also keep in mind that Bosch Sensortec products are developed for consumer goods and are not designed or approved for safety-critical applications.
