i am a little bit confused about the datasheet. For a Project i used the BNO080, the gyroscope data are send in Quaternions. But now i want to use a new generation of Mems Sensors. The unit of the Gyroscope is given in °/s, but my Software is using Quaternions for calculation. So can the Sensor give me the current orientation or just the change of angles over seconds? I need the current orientation for a position calculation
which sensor are you using now?
the °/s unit is the standard output of MEMS gyro.
In order to get the orientation data / quarternion data, you need to use our smart sensor( BNO055 / BHI160B, etc...)
I used the BNO080 which delivers quaternions. So i should use a smart Sensor to get the current orientation?
If you want to use quaternion output, then smart sensor is your choice here.
