Looking for Higher Data Rate in an 3-axis Accelerometer

Hi,

We are familiar with and like Bosch Sensortec mems devices. We have used the BMI 160 successfully, but need something with a higher sample and output data rates. Specific needs: +/- 2/4/8/16 G range, 12 bit resolution (or better), 5 kHz ODR (or better), digital or analog interface (digital I2C or I2S preferred). The balance of specs are typically easily met.

I cannot find anything with the ODR rate required.

Is there nothing that fits?

Please consider BMA280 & BMA253 from :

But don't have 5 kHz ODR,could you feedback why 5kH ODR is needed,for what kind of using?Thanks.

Hi shellywang,

The BMA280 is 10 times too slow at 500 Hz. The BMA253 is 5 times too slow at 1000 Hz.

We are reading data for frequency analysis and need 5000 Hz or better. ST Mirco has parts, but we would prefer to use Bosch.

Hi Mark,

Just to make sure the information in this thread is correct, BMA253 and BMA280 have a maximum bandwidth of 1000Hz, but the data rate is double the bandwidth : 2000Hz.

With BMA280 since the accelerometer is 14 bit, the higher data rate is marked as reserved in the datasheet, (but still available) since the noise level is much higher than the resolution at that rate.
