Nicla Sense ME - SoftwareSerial

Hello everyone,

Is there any information on how to add SoftwareSerial capabilities to the Nicla Sense ME in Arduino, or will there be a board update in the future enabling it?

I know that the Nicla has 1 hardware Serial available, but I need one hardware and one serial for my project.

On Nicla Sense ME board, there is hardware UART interface.
For software serial, do you mean software simulation to achieve serial port by using GPIO? If yes, we haven't have the software code to do it.

Yes Robin, I am talking about the "software simulation to achieve serial port by using GPIO".

In regard to "haven't have the software code to do it." Are there any plans to add that capability?

We don't have such a plan yet. You can check whether there are such reference examples on the Arduino forum.
