Hello, we are using BMP388 for recording pressure measurements to be converted to altitude and ocassionally see lare decreases in the pressure that do not apear to be related to actual conditions. The plot below is durring a gradual descent where we would expect a smooth pressure signal. The data is sampled at 50Hz and we also have measurements from a BMA253 showing there are no extreme movements during this recording. We are looking for any information that might explaing what is causing this response.
Maybe you need consider the enviroment when log the data. Pressure easily affected by gusts, steady winds, closing doors or windows and other events.
BMP388 nosie 1.2Pa@(highest resolution). But your log photo, the peak almost 0.1kPa, mostly like wind or other factors.
These spikes are above what is expected in our application. We are working on verifying against another sensor. It is also interesting that whatever the disturbance is only decreases the recorded pressure.
The data sheet mentions light sensitivity. Do you have any data on how much the sensor is impacted by sunlight and if this causes readings to drift high or low? Are there any other factors like board strain or acceleration that the sensor may respond to?
From bmp388 HSMI doc, you could find we suggest the hole in the top lid shall not be exposed to direct light. There are also some suggestion to avoid other factors influence.
