I am from a medical device company that designs, develops, and tests medical devices. We would like to use the BMP280 and BMP388 sensors for testing the outputs of our system as part of our Verification and Validation testing. While this sensor will not go into any of our finished medical devices, our ISO 13485 quality management system requires us to have some kind of documented proof that the sensors come calibrated, the standards the sensor was calibrated to, and a shelf life for that calibration. Does such documentation exist for these sensors?

Hi Ellie,
Thanks for your inquiry.
BMP280 and BMP388 are calibrated at the factory and compensated for sensor data in the sensor API, as mentioned in the data sheet. But there is no specific document regarding calibration standards and shelf life.
BMP280 and BMP388 have been discontinued and is not recommended for use in new designs.
You can use BMP581 or BMP585 in new designs, BMP581 and BMP585 product information can be found here https://www.bosch-sensortec.com/products/environmental-sensors/pressure-sensors

Hi, Thank you for your quick response. I have checked the datasheets for both the BMP581 and BMP585 but could not find any mention of calibration. Is there any documentation that I could reference to show that the sensors come factory calibrated, and how long the sensor is expected to last (shelf life)?
Aside from the calibration documentation, the sensors look perfect for our intended testing specifications.
Thank you,
Ellie
