I just wanted to seek clarification regarding the behavior of the BNO055 breakout board in high G-force conditions.
In my current project, the BNO055 sensor is subjected to forces exceeding 16g for a brief, predictable duration. I have observed a consistent issue with two separate boards: post-exposure to this force, the sensor ceases to transmit data via I2C.
Could please confirm if this is a designed safety feature of the BNO055? Additionally, I am considering placing the sensor in standby mode during this high G-force event. Would this approach enable the sensor to resume normal data output after the force subsides?
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Hi prnd,
Usually, when the force exceeds 16g, the sensor will output a full range value.
BNO055 is not recommended for use in new designs. You can use BHI360 + BMM350 combination for new design.
