Sporting Equipment Application

Good day,

I am hoping to integrate sensor(s) into a piece of sporting equipment. I would like to have this sensor communicate with an app/software to give out readings such as rotation speed, angles, distance travelled, etc. Similar in nature to the Wilson smart sports equipment, just a completely different application.

Hi n8jan,

It is recommended to use the BNO055 for similar applications, especially if you are getting started to sensors. It provides Acceleration, Rotational velocity, Magnetic field strength, Relative orientation, Absolute orientation, Linear acceleration and the Gravity vector. The distance travelled is currently not an output this device provides, but can be calculated in the application for short durations based of the existing outputs.
