I am using the BMA456 in a product. One of the features of the accelerometer that I am using is the double-tap functionality. Besides the sensitivity and the ODR, what other settings would affect the reliability of the double tap sensor? Do things like the number of averages affect this?
Tap detection was done by measuring the acceleration on z-direction. It must be ensured that when the structure is placed, the tap can be aligned with the Z direction.
RE: BSTRobin. Yes that was quite obvious in the datasheet and we have ensured that in the design. I am asking about register settings in the BMA device itself that would affect reliability or performance of the double tap sensing.
ODR must be greater than or equal to 200 Hz.
If you install the sensor on the overall machine, you could adjust the appropriate sensitivity.
