Why does BOSCH recommend an external crystal on the BNO055 for better performance?

Hi,

We read in the documentation for the BNO055 that on page 101 Section 5.5 and diagram 5.5.1, that it is recommended to use an external crystal for "better performance". I would like an engineer from BOSCH to elaborate on the limited description in the documentation because I'm hearing different answers on different forums.

The clock generated by the external crystal has better accuracy than the internal clock, so as to obtain better performance.
