fall detection

Dear,

I want to select a part of bosch sensor for fall-detection of wearable watch.

BMI160 : It has low and high-g detection and fall-detection but no tilt detection.

BHI160 : It has tilt function but no fall-detection.

Could you let me know what is the best part for fall-detection and tilt detection?

For tilt detection, do you mean wrist lift detection and wakeup MCU? BMI270 was used in many wearable products and had the function of wrist wear wakeup feature.

Hello Robin,

Yes, wrist lift detection. But BMI270 has no feature of Low-G / High-G Detection and Free-Fall detection.

Could you let me know the way to implement the features with BMI270.

Hello Gideon,

No a special SW to support wrist lift detection and Low-G / High-G detection at the same time.

If you care more about wrist lift detection, you could use BMI270 with best wrist lift detection performance.

If you care more about Low-G / High-G detection, you could use BMI160.
