unexpected terminal output for AN BMF055 example project-data stream

Hello, there

I am learning the application note：bmf055 example project-data stream，and following the instructions step by step. But the terminal output is not shown as the note says. The sensor data is not displayed. Instead, regular messy codes appears on the terminal window.

The connection between the computer and MCU is linked by UART module instead of USART module.

Could you tell me why the messy terminal output appears and how to solve the problem?

Hello,

it seems doesn't work by changing the baud rate in the app. The sensor data didn't appear on the terminal window.

Hello，

The problem is solved by changing the usb-uart mode. The usb-uart was set at usb-232 mode and the terminal output is abnormal. Now the usb-uart is set at usb-ttl mode and the terminal output is right as the application note says.

Thanks for coming back with the answer ! Indeed the BMF055 output is 3.3V CMOS output, not true RS-232.
