Yes, we expect the BME680 to be sensitive to Benzene. Of course in your application, it will depend on the concentration you are trying to detect and on the other gases present in the mixture at the same time.

Would it be possible to share the complete list of commands and values sent to the BNO055 until the data readout? In particular, the sensors' configurations are auto controlled and overwritten by the BNO055 in any Fusion Mode (or if the BNO055 is reset). Therefore if the BNO055 is switched to a Fusion Mode even temporarily, the accelerometer will be configured back to its default settings including ±4g range.

The unit of magnetometer data output is 1µT = 16LSB, therefore you will need to divide the signed 16bits raw integer values from the register map by 16 to get a signed decimal output in µT. We highly recommend using the BNO055 sensor API/driver directly or as reference for your project, which already includes some functions to convert raw sensor data into µT (e.g. bno055_convert_double_mag_xyz_uT()).

Ripple voltage higher than expected may lead to a degradation of the sensor's performance and up to outputs out of specifications, although typically mainly noise levels are affected. Unfortunately we cannot guaranty any behavior if the sensor is used outside of the datasheet specifications.
