Hello, I hope you're doing well. From what I understand, the BME688 Development Kit isn't limited to just data collection and algorithm creation. Based on Bosch's Sensortec videos, the BME688 sensor, which is equipped with 8 sensors, can indeed be used for data collection, algorithm creation, and then directly applying those algorithms in real-world applications. To clarify why I believe the development kit with 8 BME688 sensors can be used for final algorithm integration and application usage: in a video, it seems to demonstrate exactly this—where the development kit is utilized for direct applications without needing a separate single-sensor breakout board. I have a "two class" model posted on github, using hand sanitiser and air, with BSEC 2.4.0.0 -  https://github.com/mcalisterkm/teach-your-pi-to-sniff-with-bme688  I am working slowly on an update to BSEC 2.5.0.2 and  was thinking of use cases that might be interesting - someone call my hand sanitiser (air/ethanol) model the "tuppaware approach" which had me laughing for days.    I have a large kilner jar this time, and for data collection "it" has to fit in it. So far I was thinking maybe sniffing an avocado to see if it can predict three stages: "too hard", "ripe", "gone too far".    Ideas welcome - but not dangerous ones.  Keith ... View more

I covered the flashing of the devkit and pre-reqs on the PC in my acticle on teaching your pi to sniff - https://github.com/mcalisterkm/teach-your-pi-to-sniff-with-bme688  Follow the "README" by scrolling down  - Steps 1 to 4 are probably relevent, the rest are Raspberry Pi focussed.  This was done using BSEC 2.4.0.0, so you will need to adapt when using BSEC 2.5.0.2.
