Dear Bst Robin the sensor will be part of a single board PCB sensor module. in certain situations, during deployment, the sensor module would be dropped into water. the device is expected to bounce back on to surface within minutes, let us say a maximum of 10 minutes. for this 10 minutes period, the module could be submerged up to 5m deep in water. the sensor will be subjected to water pressure but it is not expected to measure it accurately. once it bounces back and is exposed to atmospheric pressure we expect the sensor to continue to operate as normal. do you think the presence of a layer of water on the sensor would affect the measurement?
