I have a BME280 and a BMI088 share a SPI bus with three separate nCSB signals for the BME280 and the BMI088 Accel/Gyro. the BMI088 'PS' is tied low to select SPI on the gyro. before talking to either BME280 or the Accel i toggle the nCSB signals low-high-low-high to force them all both to SPI too. (cf the datasheets). When i connect only the BMI088 or the BME280, everyting works nicely. when i connect them together, either the Gyro or the BME refuses to get configured properly, depending on which i configure first. Is this expected?
