Compensated gas value temperature humidity dependence

Hello,

I have multiple BME 688 sensors placed outdoors. The sensors are running forced measurements and I have noticed that the compensated gas measurement has a daily fluctuation that seems correlated with the temperature and humidity.

I was curious if others have had similar results. Below the gas_kOhm is compensated gas.

A few questions:

  1. How does the gas compensation work. I saw a formula in the datasheet but didn't understand it too well. The compensated value is the log of Ohms?

  2. What is the temperature offset and what is that used for?

  3. Is there anyway to improve the gas compensation for temperature and humidity in outdoor conditions?

  4. At certain times of each day the variance of gas measurements greatly increases. Why is this?
