I am currently working with the BME688 VOC sensor and I’m trying to understand the meaning and practical use of the IAQ and static IAQ values. I know that the IAQ index is a relative metric, so for calibration purposes I am focusing on the static VOC (static IAQ) value instead.
However, the static IAQ output does not appear to have defined units, and I want to ensure that the calibration approach I use leads to reproducible and comparable results across different devices and environments.
I would really appreciate clarification or recommendations on the following:
What exactly is the static IAQ value measuring, and how should it be interpreted?
Are there recommended methods for calibrating or normalizing the static IAQ output?
Are there limitations or considerations when using static IAQ for reproducible measurements?
Any documentation, examples, or best practices related to interpreting or calibrating IAQ/static IAQ?
