    1. I created 20 prototype boards using the BME680. Despite being in the same indoor environment,

there is variation in the initial gas resistance values. The values range from tens of KΩ to hundreds of KΩ.

Is this level of individual variation reasonable?

Note: The translation assumes that "KΩ" refers to kilo-ohms, a unit of electrical resistance.

    2. When observing the resistance value of the gas in the prototype board while it is sealed in a glass jar,

the value initially starts at tens of KΩ and gradually increases to several hundred KΩ. Please explain the

reason why the resistance value of the gas changes even in a sealed environment.

    3. When operated for a long period of time in a stable environment, does the resistance value of the gas change?

    4. In the prototype boards, the BME680 is mounted on a peninsula-shaped area of the board's surface

and placed in a separate space to eliminate the influence of heat conduction from other components.

Will the resistance value of the gas change due to slight differences in the board shape?

    5. Can you please provide the symptoms when the BME680 is damaged during an electrostatic discharge (ESD) test?

    6. Could you also provide some examples of effective ESD protection measures for the BME680?

    Hi ttake,

1.Sensor to sensor has a resistance value deviation of ± 15%, even in the same environment.

    2. The degree of redox reaction that the sensor participates in each time is different, and the corresponding resistance value is different.
    3. When working in a stable environment for a long time, the resistance value of the gas may not be exactly the same, but it tends to stabilize.
4.Temperature and humidity can have an impact on gas detection. The placement of sensors needs to comply with HSMI standards https://www.bosch-sensortec.com/media/boschsensortec/downloads/handling_soldering_mounting_instructi...
5, 6: The ESD of BME688 complies with JEDEC standards, and you can refer to JEDEC's ESD standards and methods.
