Hello,
We are prototyping with BME 680 for IAQ measurement.
Using BSEC library (IoT Loop) it typically takes 10-15 minutes for IAQ accuracy to reach 3 (from a cold start). I am trying to understand the intended use of the sensor here. Do I need to keep reading the sensor constantly at all times to maintain accuracy ? Would this shorten lifetime of the sensor by any means ?
Otherwise, what would be the best approach to take one reading every 5 mins ? Or every 15 mins ? Should I stop reading from the sensor and wait for it to re-adjust every time or keep it running ?
If it needs to be kept running, is there a way to do so other than reading it continuously ?
Many thanks,
Cagri

You can keep reading the sensor until the IAQ accuracy reaches 3. It won’t shorten the lifetime of the sensor. Otherwise, you need to calibrate by using a marker, blowing air into the sensor or placing the sensor in a clean environment. In BSEC, you can use LP or ULP mode instead.
