Hi Bosch Community-
Can the BME688 be trained to detect the piped natural gas commonly used to heat homes? Mercaptan is added to create a rotten egg smell; otherwise, natural gas has no odor. As you know, natural gas leaks can lead to massive explosions.
Thanks-

Hi MikeSchell,
Thanks for your inquiry.
BME688 supports detecting different VOCs, and BME AI-Studio software supports training the data recorded by BME688 to detect gases. For actual gas detection, sensor data is usually collected in actual gas environments, trained through BME AI-Studio, and tested in actual environments. There are many types of gases that BME688 supports detection, but we have not conducted pipeline natural gas testing, so users need to try it in specific environments.
