Hello, I am attempting to use the BMX160 sensor to count steps using acceleration data. I am aware there is already a built-in step counter but I would like to implement the algorithm myself
As I am still very early in the development phase for this, I'd like to verify the algorithm logic is sound before attempting to interface it with real accelerometer data. Are there any available data sets for acceleration that convey the following:
-Total steps taken during the data sample
-Output Data Update Frequency from The Accelerometer for the Data Set (ODR register value)
-Timestamping of each accelerometer output data point (SENSORTIME register output would be good)
If I had such a data set I could test the algorithm to take in this data as simulated input in lieu of actually interfacing with the sensor. Thanks!

Hi ElliottFW99,
Thanks for your message. We gladly publish all publicly available info, but sadly are unable to share the requested info. Thanks for your understanding.
BMX160 has a built-in step counter that supports directly outputting the calculation results of the step counter, but there is no publicly available information on its algorithm implementation and dataset.
