Hi everyone,
I'm working on a project where we're considering using either the BMI323 or BMI270 IMU sensors. Our application will mostly remain in sleep mode to save energy, and it will only wake up with an external trigger like (significant) motion. Because of this, we're planning to use the SignificantMotion feature.
From what I understand, both sensors support this feature, but the BMI323 allows for more detailed configuration. However, I'm particularly interested in understanding the power consumption differences between the two sensors when in this mode. According to the datasheets, the "Accelerometer only Low Power Mode consumption at 25Hz ODR @1.8V" is listed as 10µA for the BMI270 and 45µA for the BMI323. I realize that advanced features like SignificantMotion require a minimum ODR of 50Hz, so I assume the actual power consumption will be higher.
Could anyone provide insights into what the real power consumption might be when these chips are configured in SignificantMotion mode with the ODR set to the minimum of 50Hz?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Patrik

Hi dorapatrik,
Thank for your inquiry.
When BMI323, BMI270 are set to 50 Hz ODR and enable Significant Motion , the minimum power consumption in low-power mode is as follows:
BMI 323: within 60uA.
BMI270: about 35uA.
