I am working on a program that uses the BMM150 component and we saw one fail last week. The component is no longer responding to the command to leave suspend mode. We have verified the device has power and we watched the I2C command on the bus using a logic analyzer. The component does not respond to the I2C command. This is a mature system and has worked in the past.
In order to rule out all possiblities, we would like to know if the BMM150 MEMS device is subject to failure due to Small Molecule Gas (SMG) ingress. We have had experience with failed MEMS oscillators from SiTime due to ingress of Helium and Hydrogen into the vacuum resonator cavity on this same system. Is there any opportunity for failure of that kind in the BMM150 or its replacement?
