Thank you for the reply. I had a look at the BMA456 which might be a good fit as well. According to the DS there is also the difference in the I2C connection. Pin 10 should be set to VDDIO instead of leaving it open. Is there a reason why pin 10 should be left floating for the BMA 253? All other pins look are fully compatible. Please let me know if it is possible to connect pin 10 of the BMA253 to VDDIO. This would make the parts interchangeable. The rest is software 😉 ... View more

The sensor is used in an industrial application. It is not mandatory for the product. The sensor should be utilized in the future primarily for energy saving (motion detection) and misuse detection. I had a look at the datasheets. The sensor is pin compatible except pin 10 (in I2C mode). Is there a reason why pin 10 is DNC for the BMA253 in the I2C connection or could it be set to VDDIO as well?
