Dear reader,   Context: We are currently using BNO055 in our products to track cyclical motion in space. There are also cyclical shocks on the order of 1g, in the cyclical motion. Currently, we are using the gravity vector to keep track of our orientation and we get drift sometimes in our orientation data from the IMU. Inquiry: There are (at least) three options to get orientation information from the BNO055, gravity vector, Euler angles, and quaternions. Does the sensor fusion return the same orientation for these three quantities in each time step? Does each orientation metric have its unique pros and cons? Afternoon,   The Application Board 3.0 has 4x1.2 mm mounting holes according to schematics (page 8: https://www.bosch-sensortec.com/media/boschsensortec/downloads/software_tools/application_board_3_0/user_guides/bst-dhw-an008-en.pdf). Bosh Sensortec Community, We are looking for a replacement for BNO055 as it has been discontinued. One of the forums here suggested the BHIxy series of IMUs. The current programmable sensor systems options listed on your webpage are: BHI260AB BHI160BP BHI160B BHA260AB According to DigiKey, the BHI260AB has also been discontinued or will shortly, thereby leaving the latter three IMUs. For our application, we have a strong preference to be able to develop our own sensor fusion/Kalman algorithm if required at a later date. We require that the sensor fusion algorithm is capable to operate with the accelerometer limits set at 6g or higher. We are insensitive to SWAP (Size, Weight, Area, Power) implications. Our optimization strongly favors resistance to gyro drift. Low noise sensors are preferred. Which IMU do you recommend from your catalog? Regards, ... View more
