Hello, according to articles in this forum the accelerated lifetime tests have been performed for 1000 h to represent a normal workload for a lifetime of 10 years. We plan on using the BME in a product where the minimum expected lifetime will exceed the 10 years. By projecting the 1000 h test duration to a lifetime of 10 years, what is assumed on how frequently a measurement will be done under these workload conditions and can we thereby assume to exceed the lifetime expectancy by lowering the measurement frequency? Will the unit expectantly be more inaccurate if it ages? Therefore, taking a derating into account the influence of an aging unit could be compensated. What are best practices for self-testing the sensor without another nearby measurement value as a reference, to detect a failing unit? Also, we plan on a storage temperature of -50°C which is below the sensor’s abs max ratings. Is it possible for the sensor to be placed under these conditions if a power up will only happen at temperatures > -45°C? Thank you very much!
