Target: We need to test pressures from 0 to 15 psi absolute. Operating Environment: Low volumetric flow rate, 0 to 15 psia pressure sterile, buffered, aqueous solution containing any combination of sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride and magnesium phosphate in a small volume, <100 microliter, titanium pressure chamber. Sterilization process: Autoclave 1000 cycles at 132C in steam (H2O). On occasion, the diaphragm/gel will be exposed to this steam (H2O), but the flow toward the sensor will not be impinging on the diaphram/gel and will be blocked most of the time. The sensor pressure chamber will be incased in metal, so the heat transfer will be approximetly 100%. Because this will be a medical device, the gel, if exposed to the fluid, must be biocompatible as well.
