Hi BSTRobin, I was about to ask a similar question but found this thread first. We delevoped a torque measurement unit. The gyroscope measures the angle of rotation on a screwing. The BMG250 already performed pretty well, but now with it being NRND I am looking into a replacement preferably drop-in or as close as it can get to that. We are using the SPI interface without external triggers. The BMI270 seems to have the same package and necessary pin-out. Alternatively the BMI085 seems to be a good choice with the downside of being slightly bigger. Could you recommend a sensor? Temperature stability and low noise are highly preferred. ... View more

Hi, I have also run into the same question as OP did. Maybe you could go a bit more into detail on the availabillity of BMI260/263 for small companies aside from smartphone manufacturers? We are currently investigating a replacement for the NRND BMG250 with similar performance, ideally similar footprint. For our use case the BMI260 seems to be a good coice while the BMI270 offers functions we do not need.  The official distribution channel can not give me information on the BMI260 though. ...
