Dear Community, the datasheet says about the register 0x3c: A further test which is running continuously in the background can be checked by reading bit #4 in address GYRO_SELF_TEST. Proper sensor function is indicated if the bit is set to ‘1’. I always read "0" there while the data from Accel and Gyro is fine. I understood that this test runs continuously in background. So, whenever I read that register I expect a "1" to indicate proper functionality. I didn´t trigger the self test bit. The BMI085 runs at 200Hz, normal mode. Everthing is fine but I´d like to use that bit 4 as a safety check. Any ideas? Thank you!
