Interfacing Renesas S5D9 and BMI270 sensor, initialization fails

Hello everyone!!

I'm having issues when I am interfacing BMI270 connected to I2C (IIC) channel 1 on the Renesas S5D9 (R7FS5D97E3A01CFC) microcontroller

I have followed the initialization process as per the datasheet for BMI270 sensor.

but the BMI270_INTERNAL_STATUS register after initialization has value 0x02;

also I checked BMI270_ERR_REG (0x02) its value is 0x00 and BMI270_INTERNAL_ERROR register value is 0x11 (i.e feat_eng_disabled bit is 1)

I am stuck here and it would be great if anyone can help. Thanks 🙂

Thanks for your inquiry.
1.ensure your hardware can work normally;
2.you can use official BMI270 sensor API & example code on github https://github.com/boschsensortec/BMI270_SensorAPI and check if any difference with your software code.
We suggest that you use reference code, step by step debugging, and check if the return values running in the reference code are normal.
